Ancestral Tours

Personalized guided tours of Fife and Tayside can be tailored to suit your ancestral roots visiting the places associated with your ancestors. Even the most basic of information can provide for an interesting experience. For a more in-depth trip I will combine sites of historical interest and visitor attractions that add depth to your family history. All you need do is provide me with the names, addresses (if available) and occupations of your ancestors. I will arrange suitable transport, collect you from your local accommodation and transport you to the sites associated with your ancestors. Most clients consider a pretty tearoom as a fitting end to their journey of discovery but this is entirely optional. Homecoming Scotland 2014Should you wish I will conduct further research, such as locating burial sites and existing buildings to enhance your visit. Research for previous clients has revealed unknown ancestors and links to turbulent periods of Scottish history.

For those who have links to a clan would you like to include time with a member of the Heraldry Society of Scotland who can tell you about the origins of your name and heraldic heritage? Just let me know and I will arrange this to fit in with your tour itinerary. Rates vary according to the vehicle required, distance to be traveled and hours of research conducted. Please see the Terms, Rates and Refunds for further information and guideline rates.
